‘Dexter’ Renewed For Two More Seasons

Dexter Season 6Today is a great day for Dexter fans. Showtime just announced that they will be renewing the bloody series for two more seasons. While the series has morphed since its first few seasons, Michael C. Hall continues to enamour us with his well-kept secret and all its implications, and I bet I’m not the only who’s happy to see we’re in for a seventh and eighth season. At the same time, we shouldn’t be all that surprised because we just saw Hall sign a deal for two more years; it was only a matter of time before the series would follow.

Here’s what Showtime president David Nevins ahd to say about the long-lived, well-loved series:

Dexter‘s enormous success is a real tribute to the great achievements of its cast, producers and the powerhouse performance of Michael C. Hall…The series is bigger than it’s ever been in its sixth season… Together with Michael, the creative team on the show has a very clear sense of where they intend to take the show over the next two seasons and, as a huge fan, I’m excited to watch the story of Dexter Morgan play out.
