After a mid-December preview of the pilot episode, HBO’s Luck is finally coming to television beginning this Sunday. The encore broadcast of the series premiere will kick off a season of horse racing, organized crime, shadowy pasts and a good deal of corruption in every conceivable fashion. Dustin Hoffman and Nick Nolte lead an impressive cast as the head of a crime syndicate and a shady Kentucky horse trainer, respectively, each contributing differently but equally to the mystifying aura of the show’s race track setting.
The below “In Production” featurette gives us a glimpse of what is to come on Luck. Beyond just a story about horse racing and the seedy characters who partake in the sport, the show is a story about greed, wrath, pride…in fact, name a sin and this show probably covers it.
