During the second part of last night’s The Bachelorette, Emily Maynard sat down with Chris Harrison to discuss what exactly happened that led to the demise of her relationship with the most recent bachelor, Brad Womack. After she pulled up in a town car and sat down in the house, she told Chris that she is no longer engaged to Brad (she didn’t say anything about whether they were actually even still together or not), and said that she wasn’t ever going to say anything bad about Brad because he was such a gentleman and so thoughtful and kind. When Chris finally asked her what REALLY went wrong with her relationship with Brad, she said that these little “red flags” would come up while she was with him, but her desire to be with him and marry him and have children with him overshadowed the problems they had and that’s why she tried so hard to make it work. She said something surprising revealing, and it was that Brad never reassured her that he would want to be with her in the future, and that obviously presented a problem for Emily because she didn’t want to move her daughter to Austin without being sure that Brad would have a place for her in his life.
Towards the end of the interview, Emily said she’d always love Brad and she’d always be there for him, and she ended the sit down by saying she was disappointed because even though she and Brad really loved each other, sometimes it’s just not enough. She also told Chris she was looking forward to being a mom again and being able to (someday) go to the grocery store without having the paparazzi take pictures of her. But she’s not really doing the best she can to avoid all that, because there are numerous reports that indicate she’s in talks to become the next Bachelorette.
