Ever since production of Game of Thrones‘ second season went underway in 2011, fans have heard about a slew of new actors joining the show to embody George R. R. Martin’s epic characters. Those well-versed in the novel series have will recognize the names Brienne, Asha Greyjoy, Ygritte, Stannis Baratheon and Melisandre, all of whom have been cast.

Even more exciting than hearing about new characters is actually seeing them. Below is a group of new images from the second season of Game of Thrones.
