Go behind the scenes of this years ‘Thanksgiving Day Parade’

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a staple in families household in the US.

Mom’s starting to complain about cooking, it’s too early for Football, so something has to entertain the masses. It’s also the true start of the holiday season and the time to enjoy life before black Friday.

This time there are five new floats as well as five new balloons, and depending on the weather in New York, this might be the only time this year you’ll be able to see it. In the above video Head of Production for Macy’s Parade Studio John Piper and Executive Producer of Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade Susan Tercero tell us about the new floats including Coach’s Rexy, the Turkey/Dragon/Dinosaur from LEGO, “Home Sweet Home” by Cracker Barrel, a toy house by New York Life, and Blue from Blue’s Clues. The two also go into the new balloons like SpongeBob, Astronaut Snoopy, Smokey the Bear, Green Eggs and Ham car, and finally “Love flies up to the sky” by Yayoi Kusama.

‘2019 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade’ airs Thursday, November 28, 2019, at 9 AM EST on NBC.
