Halsey to make acting debut in TV adaptation of bestseller

Pop star Halsey is set to make her acting debut as the star of a TV adaptation of Jessica Goodman’s bestselling novel They Wish They Were Us.

The project renamed The Player’s Table for the small screen will feature the singer/songwriter alongside Euphoria star Sydney Sweeney. The Without Me hitmaker will also serve as executive producer.

The screenplay, written by Annabelle Attanasio, centers on high school senior Jill Newman, played by Sweeney, who works to uncover the truth about her best friend’s death and the role the members of a secret society may have had in it.

Halsey will portray an emotionally troubled woman, named Rachel Calloway, who sparks Jill’s investigation.

Halsey and Sweeney previously teamed up for Halsey’s Graveyard music video.
