HBO takes a shot at reality TV

According to Variety, HBO will run its first sports-based reality series, Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Baltimore Ravens, beginning in early August. The series will recount the daily lives of players and coaches as they prepare for the 2001 NFL season. An NFL Films crew will stay at the Ravens’ training camp at Western Maryland College in Westminster, Md. and shoot more than 700 hours of video, obtaining exclusive footage of the grueling pre-season process. The show will air on Wednesday nights at 11 p.m. and will run for six weeks, starting August 1.
