Is It the End for ‘The Shield’?

Hit cop drama The Shield is nearing its end because creator Shawn Ryan fears the show is taking up too much of his time.

Ryan hints that the 10-episode fifth season of the show, which is scheduled to air in 2007, will be the last.

He says, “The fact that I’m overworked and sick right now makes me lean toward ending it.”

’Commander in Chief’ Set for Comeback

The Geena Davis drama Commander in Chief is coming back to screens sooner than expected.

The White House show was pulled off the air by ABC in January after scoring low ratings.

The drama had received critical acclaim and Davis received a Golden Globe for her performance on the show as America’s first female president.

Network executives didn’t originally specify a return air date, but have now scheduled the show to return on April 13 in a new Thursday 10 p.m. timeslot.

The show will follow the latest hit reality series, American Inventor.
