Jeff Goldblum Leaves Law And Order: Criminal Intent

ALTMan of a thousand mumbles Jeff Goldblum is jumping ship on Law And Order: Criminal Intent. The Jurassic Park actor had completed his contract with CI producers Wolf Films after spending two years on the crime procedural. The show aired its ninth season finale earlier this month.

The Law And Order spinoff may have survived the original show, but its future is still up in the air. Criminal Intent saw a ratings slip this season, due in part to a number of casting shakeups. Goldblum was brought on to the show as a co-lead; he would alternate episodes with original stars Vincent D’onofrio and Kathryn Erbe. This past season, however, D’onofrio and Erbe left, leaving Goldblum as the sole lead. Now CI faces an “uncertain” future, which, according to his reps, contributed to Goldblum’s decision to leave.

While Goldblum may be leaving TV, he’ll mumble his way onto the big screen this month, in Jennifer Aniston’s artificial insemination comedy The Switch, and in the Harrison Ford comedy Morning Glory in November.
