Jennifer Lopez has given her approval to Emilia Clarke, after the star paid homage to her iconic Versace dress at the 71st Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (September 22, 2019).
The Game of Thrones star wore a navy gown with a plunging neckline – much like the revealing tropical green print gown that turned heads when the Love Don’t Cost a Thing star wore it to the 2000 Grammy Awards.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony, Emilia, 32, confirmed she was channeling the 50-year-old singer/actress with her 2019 Emmy Awards look.
“I think that J-Lo in Hustlers is the greatest introduction of a character I have ever seen,” the star gushed. “I heckled in the cinema. I’m English, I don’t do that, but I did! So J.Lo is my inspiration for this evening. I plan on channeling her all night long.”
Jennifer stars as Ramona, a veteran stripper who sets up an initiative to scam wealthy men when the sex industry bottoms out during the financial crisis of the late 2000s, in the movie.
Ahead of the ceremony, Emilia also wrote online: “@emmys2019 WE BE ROLLLLLIN! @jlo just as heads up you have inspired this years lewk. (sic)”
And sharing a clip from the interview on social media, the On The Floor singer was full of praise for the actress, writing: “When the Mother of Dragons meets #Ramona. #dead #HustlersMovie I love u @emilia_clarke #daenerys.”
The evening gave the actress a sweet reunion with her former co-stars, as Game of Thrones scooped the prize for Outstanding Drama Series at the prestigious ceremony.
