Jimmy Fallon is getting ready to take the reins from Conan O’Brien, but the late-night newbie is taking it slow. With Jay Leno preparing to retire from the Tonight Show and O’Brien in line to take his place, Fallon is getting his feet wet with a series of new webisodes.
The five-minute video blogs will appear nightly at 12:35 a.m. starting Dec. 8 on the NBC website. Instead of the previously announced dry run of his soon-to-be show, the blogs will feature Fallon behind-the-scenes at his stand up gigs, checking out his new offices and riffing on life.
Variety reports that NBC is likely to announce a the official start date for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Monday as well. Some believe his show will launch March 2 to give O’Brien a chance to prep for his June 1 takeover of the Tonight Show.
