Katie Couric to guest host Jeopardy! – report

Katie Couric has reportedly been lined up as the next guest host of Jeopardy! following the death of Alex Trebek.

The television and online journalist is apparently set to temporarily take over hosting duties on the popular game show as a guest host following the sad death of Alex, 80, who passed away in November after a battle with stage four pancreatic cancer.

The news was first reported by the Los Angeles Times and comes as Jeopardy! bosses announced plans to have guest hosts lead the show until they find a permanent replacement for the veteran presenter.

It’s not yet known how long Katie – who is best known for working on the Today show, CBS Evening News and her eponymously titled series Katie – will be in the position. However, it has also been confirmed that former Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings will occupy one of the guest-hosting slots.

Alex remains on screens as his final episodes – which were filmed earlier in 2020 – are airing this week.

His final show will be broadcast on Friday (January 8, 2021).
