Kevin Spacey was Looking to Develop a ‘House of Cards’ Accessories Line Before Scandal

Embattled Kevin Spacey reportedly filed an application to develop a House Of Cards-themed merchandise line days before he was accused of sexual assault by actor Anthony Rapp.

The American Beauty star has been fired from the hit show, but it has now emerged he was looking to launch the Presidential by Kevin Spacey line.

According to TheBlast.com, Spacey filed paperwork regarding the new venture on 24 October (17). The proposed product line was set to to include eyewear, sunglasses, footwear, gourmet food products, kitchenware, bakeware, luxury items, and clothing. However, it is unclear if it will now move forward amid the actor’s sexual harassment scandal.

Spacey was accused of sexually assaulting Rapp at his New York apartment 31 years ago, when the Star Trek: Discovery actor was just 14. Spacey quickly apologized for his drunken behavior via Twitter, but insisted he had no recollection of the incident.

A number of other alleged victims, including crew members on House of Cards, have since come forward with disturbing claims against the star, and production on the hit show was shut down before Spacey was fired. Netflix bosses are now reportedly working with House of Cards production company officials at Media Rights Capital to determine what to do with the show for its sixth and final season.

Spacey, who has also been dumped by his publicist and agents at CAA, is seeking “evaluation and treatment” in the wake of the sexual abuse allegations against him.

Meanwhile, police officials at Scotland Yard in Britain have opened an investigation into Spacey after a male actor claimed he was sexually assaulted by Spacey in London nine years ago.
