S2:E6 Instead of beginning last night’s Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami with Khloe interviewing a serial killer or someone who wears socks on their hands for her radio show, we were bombarded with a bunch of home videos of Kourtney and her sister Kim making silly faces and sticking their tongues out while wearing their Christmas dresses. This was to illustrate that even though we’ve only seen Kourtney and Khloé interact on the show, Kim is also quite close with Kourtney. (I’m going to screw up their names before this recap is over, I know it. I know it more than I know how to tape a cardboard box together.)
We were reminded that after Khloé’s fight with Kourtney, she really did fly back to Los Angeles to be with her husband. And since Kourtney needed help with DASH, Kim flew down immediately to help her with the load. However, we quickly saw Kim refuse to leave her Blackberry unattended and insisted on texting and tweeting and emailing throughout every meal and every business conversation. This drove Kourtney so crazy that when the two of them were at lunch and Kim was busy cementing some business deal that probably pays her $10,000 for every tweet she sends out, Kourtney got up and left the lunch. Kim didn’t notice, and it was pretty epic. When Kourtney got home, she called her mother to complain about how frustrated she was with Kim for making it so hard to reconnect and cement their sisterly bond over Louboutins and Cinnastix. Her mother suggested she hide Kim’s Blackberry and computer, which Kourtney did. So as we can see, Kris Jenner still hasn’t stopped deceiving her kids: even after !
When Kim got in the shower that night, Kourtney took her Blackberry and her computer and hid it in the car. Obviously, a fight between the two sisters broke out, and if I ever see one of them, I’m asking them if they’re aware of how they torture me more than they torture each other.
The next day, Katy, a DASH employee, went to the doctor because she thought she had herpes. Another DASH employee was instructed to cover for her, but when Kim showed up she started hounding everyone asking where Katy was and why she was at the doctor. Finally, one girl blurted out why Katy was missing work that day, even though she promised Katy she wouldn’t tell anybody, Kim laughed very hard as if it had never happened to her before. When Katy got back from the doctor, she yelled at everyone for blabbing about her “situation,” but cameras didn’t catch her yelling at herself for thinking an ingrown hair was a herp. Sometimes, producers betray us.
While Kim was Blackberry and computer free, she played with Kourtney’s son Mason and ran on the beach in some seriously T-Rex looking shoes. She enjoyed herself, and realized there was life outside of exploring cyberspace on a device that’s really only meant for calling triple A when your ex-boyfriend slashes your tires. But when Kim finally found her phone, she went right back to texting people she only met once. This made Kourtney crazy, and Kim felt bad so she bought the two of them a plane ride around Miami.
This show is really just about how sisters fight, right? I mean, am I expecting too much of it? I can’t be, because I don’t even know what I expect from them. I just feel like this episode was decidedly flat. It’s nice we’re starting to see how the employees of DASH have their own problems. Oh, light bulb! Maybe the purpose of having them on the show is to balance out the Kardashian’s issues of why they’re not on the cover of OK! Magazine with real issues, like deciding to sleep with a dirty dude, or your body not knowing how to grow hair properly.
