Lisa Kudrow won’t watch reruns of her hit show Friends, because she hopes she will one day tune in to the series alongside her former co-stars.
The 56-year-old actress starred as Phoebe Buffay in the sitcom, which ran from 1994 to 2004. Since the show came to an end, numerous television networks around the world have been airing repeats of the series, but one person who won’t be tuning in is Lisa.
“I don’t watch the show. I’m still not watching it in the hopes that one day we sit down and watch them together,” she said in a new Actors on Actors feature for Variety.
Lisa’s co-star Jennifer Aniston then commented, “That’s something that will happen”.
Following the remark, Lisa admitted that she’s had something of a commitment issue since Friends ended, and prefers to take on short-running stints rather than signing up for a long-term gig.
“It’s not like, ‘Oh, it was such hard work for 10 years.’ It’s not that,” she explained. “It was that I know that show worked because we all committed to each other too. It wasn’t just committing to a role, committing to a contract. We all still love each other. Our cast is like that, and that’s why that worked. I think part of me died. I can’t do that again.”
