Netflix hit Lucifer has been renewed for a sixth and final season after bosses at the streaming service announced season five would be the last.

The series, in which Tom Ellis plays the devil, was set to conclude with the fifth season, which is set to air in August (2020), but fans were given the good news on Tuesday (June 22, 2020) when it was revealed another run is being planned via the show’s official Twitter account.

Lucifer moved to Netflix in 2018 after it was cancelled by executives at FOX. Season five has been split into two parts and there is currently no premiere date set for the second half.

The show also stars Lauren German, Kevin Alejandro, D.B. Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, and Rachael Harris.
