NBC to give away unit to link TVs to PCs

NBC is expected to announce Monday that it is partnering with Dallas-based Digital Convergence, to test a new device, CueCat, aimed at linking broadcast TV with the PC. The first test will reportedly occur Thursday during the airing of Friends. Devices and software for connecting PCs and TVs are being distributed without charge in Radio Shack stores. Digital Convergence says it plans to give away two million of the devices over the next eight weeks.
