I guess part of the problem with reviving Torchwood for the U.S. audience that is familiar with the show is the lack of familiarity. Gone is base station, gone are most of the cast (for well justified reasons, of course), and hell, gone are the delightful British-isms. And yet, it’s still Torchwood and Captain Jack Harkness is still Captain Jack Harkness.
The new trailer introduces the new players and the premise very well; people stopped dying and Bill Pullman was convicted to die and then he was saved. Throw in some explosions, John Barrowman doing his thing, and Eve Myles looking as sexy as ever, and yeah. Torchwood is back!
