Ramseys sue Court TV

The parents of the murdered JonBenet Ramsey are suing Court TV, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Ramseys are suing for $70 million, claiming that Court TV falsely accused their son Burke, then 12, as a prime suspect in the case when he was not officially listed as such. The accusation occurred on Court TV’s special Who Killed JonBenet Ramsey: Prime Suspects, which aired Nov. 5, 1999. The Ramseys also cite that, despite receiving and affidavit from Boulder’s district attorney that Burke wasn’t a suspect, Court TV re-aired the show at a later date. AOL Time Warner, Time Warner Entertainment and Liberty Media-co-owners of Court TV–are named as co-defendants. The cable channel has refused to comment on the litigation.
