Tonight would be a good night to have DVR…
Top Tier
Up All Night
8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC
“First Christmas”
It’s not my favorite of the NBC comedies – and how could it be with shows like Community and Parks and Recreation vying for that title – but Up All Night is a delightful, well-written family show that doesn’t overdo it on the sappy parts. It’s Amy’s first Christmas, and one of the best sitcom mother-portrayers, Blythe Danner, is onhand to help Reagan make it perfect. Aww.
Happy Endings
9:30 p.m. ET/PT on ABC
“Grinches Be Crazy”
If that title doesn’t sell you, I’m at a loss. Okay, I’ll sweeten the deal: Max dresses up as Santa for charity and Jane gets greedy when she accidentally givers her housekeeper an extremely generous Christmas tip.
10 p.m. ET/PT on ABC
“Loyalty”
ABC’s surprisingly refreshing primetime soap has reached that bittersweet moment: the fall finale. And if the series has taught us anything, we’re about to land on one hell of a cliff-hanger.
Toddlers and Tiaras
10 p.m. ET/PT on TLC
“Southern Celebrity Glitzmas”
Don’t act like you’re above this show. You know you’ve seen at least a handful of horrifying episodes, and like the rest of America, we just can’t stop going back for more uncomfortable “reality.”
Alternates
“Top 5 Perform”
And then there were five. Everyone knows the competition gets better as the pool of candidates gets smaller.
America’s Next Top Model
9 p.m. ET/PT on the CW
“All-Star Finale”
It’s not really our thing, but they’re about to crown a new winner, which means Tyra is bound to do something elaborate and crazy. GIFs to follow.
“Express Christmas”
Our favorite group of TV families try to tackle the Christmas season with zeal and speed, employing a divide and conquer strategy. We all know this won’t go as planned and hilarity will ensue.
American Horror Story
10 p.m. ET/PT on FX
“Smoldering Children”
The mystery continues as Violet learns about the rules of the house, Larry’s condition is explained, and Constance has some explaining to do with the police.
