In light of Monday’s tragic incident at the Boston Marathon, NBC chose to withhold this week’s all-new episode of Revolution and devote the hour solely to news coverage. In doing so, the freshman series’ run has been pushed back a week, with the first season finale now airing in June. That’s not a problem for star Tracy Spiridakos, who says she’s proud the network chose to preempt this week’s episode.
“I think that the fact [the network] wanted to spend that time covering all that was wonderful,” she tells Hollywood.com exclusively. “I think what happened [in Boston] is a horrible and tragic thing, and my heart goes out to all the families and everybody involved. I’m happy that [NBC] spent that time to dedicate it and cover it and talk about it.”
As for the episode that fans missed this week, “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” Spiridakos says fans will still enjoy its shocking revelations when it airs next Monday. “It’s an interesting episode; there’s a lot of action,” she says. “We get to see more of the Georgia Republic. That’s a different world we haven’t dabbled into, which is very cool. It’s a very different place.”
NBC reps assure fans that the postponed episode will not affect the continuity of the freshman series — it merely pushes the schedule back by one week. As a result the Season 1 finale of Revolution has been rescheduled to air Monday, June 7 at 10 PM.
