Showtime Shows Some Love for ‘Dexter’

Showtime Networks has picked up a fourth and fifth season of their highest-rated show Dexter, Variety reports.

The show’s Sept. 28 third season premiere — which stars Michael C. Hall as a Miami PD forensic blood expert, who moonlights as a vigilante/serial killer — drew 1.2 million viewers, more than 20 percent more than when season 2 debuted in 2007. It also nabbed an Emmy nomination for drama series earlier this year while also winning a Peabody Award.

Season 4 is set to begin in L.A. in the spring and each campaign will span 12 episodes. I just hope it can continue skewing the main plot to keep things interesting. Certainly the current season is off to a very intriguingly good start with Dexter’s impending fatherhood. Just imagine THAT child.
