All someone has to do is start playing Dido’s “Here with Me” and we’re instantly transported back to a time of Tabasco-loving aliens and angsty supernatural teenage love. Roswell only lasted three seasons – two on The WB and one on UPN – but it still lives on. Just last year, the cast celebrated the show’s 15th (!) anniversary with a reunion at the ATX TV Festival. We’re still feeling nostalgic, so we wanted to check back in on the cast. Here’s what they’ve all been up to in those years since Max, Liz and Co. drove off into the New Mexican sunset.
Oh, Jason Behr. You were probably one of the oldest teenagers on television, but we forgave that because you were a hot alien. Max Evans was our supernatural dream boy. When the show ended, Jason starred in the horror movie The Grudge and appeared on five episodes of the TV series Breakout Kings. Other than that, his acting portfolio has been mostly small films. He’s been married to Private Practice star KaDee Strickland since 2006 and they have one child together.
Our beloved Liz Parker is now starring on Lifetime’s breakout hit, UnREAL, a fictionalized account of what goes on behind the scenes of a reality show like The Bachelor. Before that she had a memorable guest stint on Girls, and starred on the short-lived CW show Life Unexpected.
We always had a soft spot for Michael Guerin, no matter how many times he tried to play tough. Following the show, Brendan had recurring roles on CSI: Miami and Bones. He recently had a bit part in Guardians of the Galaxy and now stars on The Night Shift, a show about a group of doctors who work nights at a San Antonio hospital.
We all know Katherine went from playing Isabel Evans on Roswell to played Isobel "Izzie" Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy. She was on her way to becoming a movie star with films like Knocked Up and rom-coms like 27 Dresses, but then she left Grey’s and got a bad rap for being too outspoken. Her return to TV, State of Affairs, got cancelled after one season. But she’s got a new movie coming out called Jenny’s Wedding, in which she plays a lesbian with another The WB TV favorite, Gilmore Girls’ Alexis Bledel.
Maria DeLuca was the sassy best friend we all wished we had. After Roswell, Majandra starred on the ABC Family show State of Georgia and the CBS show Friends with Better Lives alongside James Van Der Beek. She also starred in the pilot for the Dwight Schrute spinoff that never came to be – The Farm. Now the Venezuelan beauty is married to About a Boy actor David Walton and they have two kids together.
We were devastated when Alex was killed off the show. Mind-warped to death is a pretty bad way to go. But Tom Hanks’ son proved his resiliency. He’s appeared in a bunch of movies including Orange County, King Kong and The Great Buck Howard, alongside his dad. He also played a priest on Mad Men, was the “Big Bad” on season 6 of Dexter, and starred on the first season of FX’s Fargo.
Let’s be honest: We all hated Tess. She broke up Max and Liz AND killed Alex! We won’t hold that against Emilie de Ravin, though. The Aussie actress went on to star as Claire (“My bay-bay!”) in Lost and she now appears as Belle in Once Upon a Time.
Over three seasons, Nick transformed Kyle Valenti from suspicious jock into bonafide member of the Roswell alien crew. After the show, his next starring TV role didn’t come until Revenge in 2011. He played Jack Porter, the longtime love interest of Emily Van Camp’s Amanda Clarke, for four seasons on the ABC drama.
We’re so glad Sheriff Valenti stopped hunting the aliens and started protecting them. He became one of their greatest allies. Since the show, William starred on the short-lived Wonderfalls, had recurring roles on Damages and Hawaii Five-O, and appeared on three episodes of Homeland. And those are just a few of his many TV guest stints.
Adam was only in the show’s third and final season, as Jesse, a love interest for Isabel. After that role, he starred as Eric Delko in over 200 episodes of CSI: Miami. Now, funny enough, he’s on The Night Shift with Brendan Fehr. And, of course, he’s Tito in Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL. Who could forget that?
Who could have known that Jesse Ramirez would turn out to have such a stellar career on CSI?
