The Simpsons have an uncanny knack for predicting the future, and Trump’s recent presidency only proves it. Sixteen years ago, the show predicted that the reality-TV host would make it to the White House.
The 2000 episode “Bart to the Future” gives Bart a glimpse at what his (pretty pathetic) life will be like at age 40. In the vision, Lisa Simpson is the first “straight female” president. During a scene in the Oval Office, Lisa makes reference to how Trump tanked the American economy.
“As you know, we’ve inherited quite a budget crunch from President Trump,” she says.

“The country is broke! How could that be?” she continues before Bart storms in looking for a job.
We should have seen it coming. The Simpsons were trying to warn us all.
