Many individuals and institutions have made an effort to pay respect to the 26 victims of last week’s tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. Beginning its final week of the season Wednesday, The X Factor put on a special tribute performance to remember those who were lost in Newtown, Conn.
Following Simon Cowell’s introduction, the contestants, along with a children’s choir, took the stage to perform Michael Jackson’s heartbreaking song, “You Are Not Alone.” Emblem3, Paige Thomas, Arin Ray, Carly Rose Sonenclar, CeCe Frey, Jennel Garcia, Beatrice Miller, Tate Stevens, Fifth Harmony, Diamond White, and Vino Alan poured their hearts and souls into the verses.
The X Factor is just one of the shows that has paid tribute to those killed. Saturday Night Live and The Voice, among others, have also put forth segments that honor the lives of the deceased.
