It’s official. The ink is dry on a deal to set British singer Cheryl Cole as the second Brit on the X-Factor judging panel. As of now, the four-judge panel is comprised of L.A. Reid, Simon Cowell and Cole. The fourth judge is yet to be determined.
So who is this British babe? First, she sat alongside Cowell on the UK version of the X-Factor for three seasons and she’s famous in England for being a member of the girl-pop group, Girls Aloud. While they’re not really big here, they’re one of the most successful British pop groups ever. Cole and Cowell had a bit of a rivalry going on the UK X-Factor, so it looks like they’ll be bringing that back for the US one; and if the Paula Abdul rumors are true, when they sign the fourth judge we’ll likely see a lot of Paula and Cheryl versus Simon and L.A. Reid (can we just call him L.A.? I feel like that’s too informal).
No matter who the fourth judge is, we won’t see any of the fireworks until the show hits Fox in September later this year.
