Ever since his wife burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After twelve years, he manages to cultivate in his own laboratory, a skin that is sensitive to caresses, but a real shield against all aggressions, both external and internal. In order to test his creation, however, he'll need a human guinea pig, one who is deserving of the physical trauma it requires. The answer to his problem comes in the form of a mysterious and volatile woman who holds the key to his obsession.
