Episode Four – “Survivor Season Two”

Yes, they hunted a pig. Yes, they killed it. Yes, they showed it.

Thursday’s episode of “Survivor” was wrought with controversial issues — you can hear the PETA now. Kucha tribesman Mike, obsessed, tracked down a small pig, cornered it and sunk a hunting knife in its back. A screeching squeal shot through the camp.

Can you say ratings?

Actually, the stunt was not the only graphic scene in the episode. Fellow Kucha tribesman Rodger lopped off the head of a chicken — much to vegetarian Kimmi’s dismay — and again, the tribe chowed down.

Very macho.

Ultimately, though, when it came down to the Immunity Challenge, it turned into a battle of brains, not brawn. In a grueling trivia contest, both tribes were forced to answer tough questions about the Outback. From such topics as poisonous snakes and fueling fires, many passed, many failed. Kucha member Alicia fell several times, until the final question, which she finally answered correctly, giving the victory to the Kucha.

At Tribal Council, after two ties between Keith and Mitchell getting the ax, it came down to past votes to decide the night’s loser. Because he’d already had one prior vote cast against him, it was Mitchell.

However, the drama does not end there: the two tribes are now forced to trade three of their remaining members, allowing for all sorts of new conflict, intensity… and sex?
