TV Rewind: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Leaves Us Hangin’; ‘Real World’ Paula Goes Nuts ; ‘That 70’s Show’ and ‘Will and Grace’ Say Goodbye

We Say Goodbye to Two Treasured Sitcoms
This week marked the end of an era: Will and Grace and That 70’s Show have come to an end, airing their series finales. The show that made homosexuality OK to talk about on TV ended with Will and Grace’s kids getting married. Mostly a very boring episode, it still left me a little teary eyed knowing that Jack, Karen, Will and Grace will never be together again. Earlier, That 70’s Show said its final goodbyes in their hilarious series finale. Ashton Kutcher returns to the basement (and the circle) one more time to ring in the ‘80s with his friends. Both shows will be missed. Let’s hope next season is filled with shows that are up to the caliber of these classics.

McVet or McDreamy?
Unfortunately, the biggest question looming over Grey’s Anatomy is still left unanswered at its season end. After the very steamy sex scene between Meredith and Derrick, the inevitable question, “What now?” Of course, before anyone can answer, the conversation gets interrupted by the surprising death of Izzy’s new fiancé Denny. I say surprising because after all the scandalous things done to get him a new heart, he dies anyway, alone, as Izzy is on her way up to see him. The second of two tear-jerking moments follows with the very emotional death of Meredith and Derrick’s dog, Doc. He has to be put to sleep (in the most heartbreaking way) after his cancer spread throughout out the poor pup’s body. But we are still on pins and needles waiting for Meredith to make the BIG decision: McVet and McDreamy? But alas, we’ll have to wait ALL SUMMER to find out! Oh well.

Paula Wall-Nuts Is Back in Action
I’m almost beginning to feel bad for Paula as it seems she is completely unable to control herself when she drinks. Watching herself act like a raving lunatic cannot be helpful to her healing process. It all starts, obviously, in the car on the way home from the bar. As Paula rips John (and his ‘manhood’) apart AGAIN John tries everything to avoid the situation—until, that is, he finally breaks and makes mention of her ‘mosquito bite’ chest, three-year-old scars, and the fact that she hasn’t eaten in a week. Well, of course, this throws Paula into psycho mode as she begins taking out her frustrations on the rest of the roommates. When the next morning approaches, Paula learns the fight was started by her, and her alone, making her reconsider her drinking for just about the hundredth time on the show. She hopes her therapy will help control her anger. Yeah, so do we.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled
Rescue Me, Dennis Leary’s firefighter dramedy, comes back to F/X for season three Tuesday night at 10:00. And what is sure to be one of the most compelling season finales yet, Lost airs Wednesday night at 9:00 in a two-hour finale episode.
