With prizes for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and The Weakest Link making those for Jeopardy! look puny by comparison, the producers of the long-running quiz have decided to double the prize money beginning in November. Jeopardy! executive producer Harry Friedman told today’s New York Post: “We’re like any other business, you deal with market conditions. … It’s not going to change the content of the show. The competition will still be very tough and the material will still be uniquely Jeopardy!, but now there’s more money at stake, which will create more excitement.”
