  • Without a Paddle Review
By: Gregory Freitas August 24, 2004 5:02am EST
While sporadically hilarious, Without a Paddle is a regurgitation of every fish-out-of-water comedy since 1987. Even still, it would make for a funny and frequent rental, if the audience it was intended for wasn't nearing 40 years old.
  • The Chronicles of Riddick Review
By: Guylaine Cadorette June 17, 2004 12:44pm EST
The Chronicles of Riddick is a dazzling sci-fi epic that will have Pitch Black devotees marking their calendars for the third installment. But director David Twohy's sequel is unlikely to strike a chord with those unfamiliar with Riddick's world
  • Connie and Carla Review
By: Kit Bowen April 15, 2004 2:20pm EST
Although it may take its cue from other gender-benders, it's definitely snaps all around for the delightful and heartfelt Connie and Carla.
  • The Last Samurai Review
By: Kit Bowen December 11, 2003 7:12am EST
Although the story and Tom Cruise's performance lack punch, The Last Samurai makes up for its shortcomings in its grand scope, immersing the audience in another time and re-creating the ancient world of the Japanese samurai.
  • Scary Movie 3 Review
By: Guylaine Cadorette October 23, 2003 4:57pm EST
Those who haven't seen the movies being spoofed should skip Scary Movie 3 altogether. Those who can pick them out will laugh at some of the references, but will also have to sit through some painfully bad scenes and plotlines to get to them.
  • The Medallion Review
By: Kit Bowen August 22, 2003 8:14am EST
Jackie Chan has just as much fun in The Medallion as he does in any of his other films--but he doesn't need the overworked special effects used in it to accentuate his extraordinary talents.
  • American Wedding Review
By: Guylaine Cadorette August 01, 2003 7:21am EST
Jesse Dylan's American Wedding, the third installment in the American Pie series, is too much of a good thing. Four years and two movies later, the characters and storyline have lost their freshness, but it's not a total loss; there are still some hearty laughs to be had.
  • Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas Review
By: Kit Bowen July 14, 2003 12:28pm EST
Although Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas may not necessarily have that certain Pixar cleverness for adults, it provides more than enough good old-fashioned entertainment for the family.
  • X2: X-Men United Review
By: Kit Bowen May 02, 2003 3:28pm EST
X2: X-Men United is a thoroughly exciting and intriguing sequel in the X-Men series, a pure adrenaline ride. But with a weighty--and very important--message attached, the film also makes you think.
  • Evelyn Review
By: Maya Gaddie December 16, 2002 9:10am EST
This is a feel-good film if ever there was one. Bring your tissue for this heart-wrenching pic--you know what is going to happen, but you'll want to see the ending anyway.
