We’ve seen American Gangster’s roots plenty—as recently as The Departed and as far back as Scarface—but between its formidable acting duo and story in need of retelling, there’s plenty here to intrigue.

If there must be a grittier, more human --and, dare we say, even more vulnerable--James Bond, then Daniel Craig is all THAT and a bag of chips. Kudos to the new Bond regime.

Although definitely much more video game than movie, Resident Evil: Apocalypse puts you right in the middle of the action, nonetheless--in which you imagine yourself as Alice, blowing away zombies and biochemical mutants, all while dexterously maneuvering your thumbs on your PlayStation controller.

Hidalgo is a good, if long, story about a man and his horse, and it's worth seeing even though its length may leave you a little saddle sore.

Considering it is based on a Disney theme park attraction, Gore Verbinski's Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl is surprisingly good, but it probably would not have been half as entertaining if it were not for Johnny Depp's commanding performance as Captain Jack Sparrow.
