Appropriately funny, surprisingly sweet, Ghost Town just might give Brit funnyman Ricky Gervais a career in the American romantic comedy milieu--if he wants it, that is.

Although this might be a tad convoluted and distant for the younger set, The Golden Compass is still a truly fantastical journey filled with wondrous imagery. A real visual treat.

The ingenious Across the Universe is a musical along the lines of a Moulin Rouge, imaginatively interjecting popular songs--in this case, the Beatles repertoire--into the storyline. It’s a real treat.

It’s a shame the brothers Farrelly couldn’t (or didn’t want to) direct The Brothers Solomon, which, at its best, is nothing more than a dumber Dumb and Dumber anyway.

You, Me and Dupree manages to keep us mildly amused, mostly due to Owen Wilson’s infectious charm. But unlike some of his other comrades in comedy, a lot of Owen doesn’t necessarily spell success.
