By: Leanne Aguilera June 17, 2013 4:32pm EST
Singer, former reality TV judge, fashion designer, and mother Jennifer Lopez is adding a new project to her huge resume. The 43-year-old actress has officially signed on to star alongside Antonio Banderas in the buzz-worthy upcoming film The 33. Based on the true story, the film will revolve around the captivating tale of 33 Chilean miners who were rescued after being trapped underground for 69 days in 2010. Lopez and Banderas join the previously announced actors Martin Sheen and Brazilian actor Rodrigo Santoro in The 33. Mike Medavoy — who gained the rights to this story soon after the miners' rescue — will direct the A-list ensemble cast. Details on Lopez's character have not been released just yet, but we do know that Banderas is playing the role of Mario Sepulveda, the charismatic miner nicknamed "Super Mario." Santori is portraying another trapped miner, while Sheen will portray the father of one of the laborers. This is Lopez's first big screen role since her action thriller Parker that underwhelmed audiences earlier this year. • The Stars of 'The Fosters' Tease Tonight’s 'Ground-Breaking' Series Premiere
By: Leanne Aguilera June 03, 2013 3:38pm EST
Now-a-days, most families are no longer made up of the clichéd Mom, Dad and 2.5 yet it has been difficult to find a TV show that represents today’s eclectic family dynamics — until now. ABC Family has created a show that features a family that almost everyone can relate to. From executive producer Jennifer Lopez, The Fosters is a brand new one-hour drama that will tug on your heartstrings in the best way possible. The series follows two mothers Stef Foster (Teri Polo) and Lena Adams (Sherri Saum) as they face the up’s and down’s of raising a mixed family of foster and biological kids. With a son and a set of twins already under one roof, the two woman are thrown for a loop when they encounter Callie (Maia Mitchell), a hardened teen with an abusive past in need of a new home. Hollywood.com caught up with The Fosters’ leading ladies to find out why this progressive series is one that you cannot miss. Saum explains, “Well obviously it’s kind of ground-breaking in the sense that these two moms are raising these kids, but I think that all types of people are going to relate to [The Fosters].” Polo echoes these sentiments revealing that the main theme in The Fosters is relatability. “I think we want to say that it’s real that it’s about real life, it’s about real people… It’s not like a soap opera type of drama, it’s that you get drawn in in because it’s about real life,” she says. The actresses promise that The Fosters is going to be a roller coaster ride of emotions that families of all dynamics will be able to connect with. Saum says, “To see these two moms tackle the task of raising these children and potentially brining new children into their house and how they juggle that is going to be a beautiful thing to watch.” Don’t miss the series premiere of The Fosters, tonight at 9 PM on ABC Family. By: WENN.com June 03, 2013 12:00pm EST
Superstar Beyonce battled through a sore throat to headline The Sound of Change charity concert in London on Saturday (01Jun13). The R&B beauty thrilled fans at Twickenham Stadium by belting out hits including Run the World (Girls), Halo and Crazy in Love with her rapper husband Jay-Z, but she admitted to U.S. reporter Samantha Guthrie before the gig that she was struggling with a slight illness. A clip of the newswoman's backstage interview with Beyonce aired on breakfast show Today on Monday (03Jun13), prompting co-host Natalie Morales to comment on the singer sounding "a little hoarse", to which Guthrie replied, "She did. She said she was struggling with her speaking voice. I said, 'How are you gonna sing?' She said, 'Oh it's different vocal cords.' Let me tell you, she sang her heart out; gave a great performance." Jennifer Lopez, Florence + The Machine, John Legend, Jessie J and Ellie Goulding were also among the acts on the all-star line-up, while Madonna, Salma Hayek, James Franco and Blake Lively all made appearances onstage to promote education, health and justice for women worldwide through the Chime for Change foundation. The sold-out female empowerment benefit helped to raise over $4 million (£2.6 million) for the cause. Beyonce, who overcame a secret bout of tonsillitis at the start of her The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in April (13), will have a few weeks to rest her voice and recover - she doesn't kick off the North American leg of her trek until 28 June (13), when she will hit the stage in Los Angeles.

  • John Legend's fiancee takes aim Jennifer Lopez's entourage
    By: WENN.com June 02, 2013 10:29am EST
John Legend's outspoken model fiancee Chrissy Teigen was left fuming backstage at the Chime for Change charity concert in London on Saturday (01Jun13) after Jennifer Lopez's minders demanded she make way for the superstar. Lopez was one of the headliners at the Twickenham Stadium benefit gig, which highlighted the need to empower women around the world. Music icons Beyonce and Madonna also graced the stage, but it was Jenny from the Block's entourage who cause a stir behind the scenes. Teigen was watching from the wings as her husband-to-be performed his hit Ordinary People when she was asked to leave the area in preparation for Lopez's arrival. Taking to Twitter.com to slam the star's fussy team, she writes, "I won't get into it but Jennifer Lopez's people need to calm the f**k down. "I love Jennifer Lopez. But as I am sitting and watching John perform, I don't need her people to lay down the j-lo laws. She shall still be my face and hair idol. Her people can kick rocks. "I have never once been asked to leave an area for an artist's supreme arrival. Maybe I should carry around a horn and streamers."

    By: WENN.com June 02, 2013 7:59am EST
Pop superstars Beyonce, Madonna and Jennifer Lopez graced the stage in London on Saturday night (01Jun13) to spread the message of female empowerment at the high-profile The Sound of Change concert. Thousands of fans flocked to Twickenham Stadium for the charity gig, which aims to promote education, health and justice for women worldwide through the Chime for Change foundation. Artists including Jessie J, Rita Ora, Florence Welch, John Legend, Timbaland, Simon Le Bon and Ellie Goulding all performed short sets to gear up the crowd ready for headliners Beyonce and Lopez. The Jenny From the Block hitmaker performed a rousing rendition of the Beatles' classic Come Together with R&B diva Mary J. Blige, before playing her club hit On The Floor. Beyonce then closed the concert with a stunning medley of her hits, including her version of Etta James' At Last, Destiny's Child song Survivor and her chart smash Crazy In Love, for which she was joined onstage by rapper husband Jay-Z, who gave the star a loving kiss on the cheek before she ended the show with her big ballad Halo. Thanking the audience for buying tickets to support the cause, Beyonce said, "This is such an incredible night for all of us. Because of you all, we have raised more than $4 million (£2.6 million)." Madonna was one of the guest presenters at the bash, and pledged to fund a school in Pakistan if fans helped to lay the foundation with their donations. The Material Girl added, "I keep telling people that I want to start a revolution. Until you learn to read and write, you can't ask the question why. You can't do this without an education. Education is not a luxury, it is a basic human right." Salma Hayek, who co-organised the event with Beyonce and Gucci boss Frida Giannini, was also among the presenters urging people to give money to Chime For Change, along with Ryan Reynolds, Blake Lively, James Franco and Jessica Chastain.
  • Jennifer Lopez defends sexy TV performance after viewer complaints
    By: WENN.com May 31, 2013 12:14am EST
Jennifer Lopez has defended her raunchy performance on a U.K. TV talent show on Tuesday night (28May13) following a slew of complaints about her revealing outfit and sexy dance moves. The On The Floor hitmaker wore thigh-high leather boots and a skimpy black leotard which showed off her backside for a rendition of her new track Live It Up on Britain's Got Talent, but many viewers were not impressed with her routine on the family programme. Users on Twitter.com blasted Lopez for her choice of attire, and officials at British broadcasting industry regulator Ofcom has since received more than 100 complaints about the performance. Lopez spoke out about the controversy during an interview on Britain's BBC Radio 1 on Thursday (30May13) and admits she is baffled by the drama as she wore the same outfit to perform at the Billboard Music Awards on 19 May (13). She says, "I think people are so much raunchier than I am - I feel like I'm so tame. No one complained at the Billboard Awards. I think people just like to talk. It was a body suit. A lot of performers wear that these days. I'm not going to walk down the street like that! I wore (the same outfit) at Billboard and Britain's Got Talent said they wanted exactly the same."

A statement issued to Reuters reads: "Sixty percent of the children in the world not in school are girls. Two-thirds of the world's illiterate are women. I do not accept this. We need to change this and we will change this." The benefit concert, organised by bosses at Chime For Change, a women's campaign group founded by executives at Italian fashion house Gucci, is set to be broadcast live from Twickenham Stadium to more than 150 countries.

Jennifer Lopez's raunchy performance on a U.K. TV talent show has drawn complaints from viewers who were shocked by her skimpy outfit and provocative dance moves. The On The Floor hitmaker took to the stage during the Tuesday night (28May13) episode of Britain's Got Talent for a performance of her new track Live It Up wearing thigh-high leather boots and a skimpy black leotard which showed off her backside. Viewers immediately took to Twitter.com to blast the star's risque routine and sexy outfit on what is billed as a family show, insisting her performance was inappropriate for children. In one post, a fan wrote, "Jennifer Lopez put some clothes on, (Britain's Got Talent) is a family show, what sort of role model are you being for the young girls watching?" while another quips, "Disgusting that Jennifer Lopez showed off quite so much on a family show. Sad." British broadcasting industry regulator Ofcom received around 30 official complaints from disgruntled viewers and a spokesperson for the organisation says, "Ofcom can confirm that it has received complaints about the Britain's Got Talent broadcast last night, which we are assessing but not currently investigating."
