DJs behind Spears hoax canned
June 26, 2001 6:22am ESTKeith Kramer and Tony "Twitch" Longo, disc jockeys based in San Jose, Calif., whose show aired on KEGL-FM in Dallas, have been fired after they reportedly claimed that pop stars Britney Spears and boyfriend Justin Timberlake were killed in a car crash. A spokeswoman for Clear Channel Communications, which owns KEGL, said that the hoax was not the sole reason for the firing, but confirmed that they were released Monday from their duties.
