  • A Scanner Darkly Review
By: Brian Marder July 07, 2006 8:22am EST
A Scanner Darkly is capable of inducing euphoria if viewers focus on one element of splendor--the acting, concept, dialogue or animation--per viewing. • Doom Review
By: Steven Trautmann October 21, 2005 2:05pm EST
The uber-popular video game gets a big-screen treatment with a predictable plot and a tacked-on final sequence. But even with all the action, violence, mutant-zombies and lots of high-caliber weaponry, it just doesn't elevate a great game to a great movie.

By: Carson Hunter April 26, 2005 10:56am EST
If you've seen every Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider and Star Wars and The Mummy, and you STILL want to see more action films? Then you might want to consider this one. At least it'll use up some time until the next Star Wars movie comes out.
  • The Forgotten Review
By: Kit Bowen September 23, 2004 12:21pm EST
Although Julianne Moore does another good job pouring her heart out, The Forgotten just doesn't quite hold up as either a gut-wrenching tale of loss or a convincing psychological thriller.

By: Guylaine Cadorette June 17, 2004 12:44pm EST
The Chronicles of Riddick is a dazzling sci-fi epic that will have Pitch Black devotees marking their calendars for the third installment. But director David Twohy's sequel is unlikely to strike a chord with those unfamiliar with Riddick's world

By: Guylaine Cadorette January 25, 2004 1:59pm EST
It was a tough sell but New Line Cinema's supernatural drama The Butterfly Effect, starring Ashton Kutcher in his first non-comedic role, fluttered its way to the top of the box office this weekend with an effectual $17.1 million. • Mona Lisa Smile Review
By: Guylaine Cadorette December 18, 2003 12:55pm EST
Mona Lisa Smile's lesson of the day--that the '50s were an oppressive decade for women--is delivered in an unoriginal manner through such shallow and unlikable characters that its message lacks an emotional punch.
  • Chicago Review
By: Kit Bowen March 06, 2003 6:21am EST
Although the singing and dancing aren't as good as on Broadway, Chicago is thoroughly entertaining. Look for it to gather a few accolades in the coming award season.
