Here’s a little 'Gossip Girl' gossip for you … there could be a spin-off in the works. Producers are slow to confirm, but 'Star' reports that it will likely center around Serena’s mom Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Dan’s dad Rufus (Matthew Settle).

Between the two of them, Ridley Scott and Orlando Bloom have picked up their swords for Gladiator, Troy and The Lord of the Rings trilogy. And that's the problem. If the intriguing but ultimately derivative Kingdom of Heaven had arrived before these recent period epics, it may have stood a better chance of enthralling us.

Perhaps if Friday Night Lights was the first high school football story to come to the big screen, it would be one of the best. Even though the film does sport some superb performances and tackles gritty realism with gusto, it isn't the first to do that--far from it.

Gosford Park is entertaining enough, but if you're expecting another Altman masterpiece, you'll be disappointed.
