LOS ANGELES, Mar. 14, 2001 -- In a special ceremony broadcast from the Rainbow Room on NBC News' Today Show, the 28th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards nominations were announced. John Travolta, Sylvester Stallone, Dustin Hoffman and Cher were among the celebrities who attended VH1's "Rock to Erase MS" on Friday at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. According to People magazine, Hoffman said he attended the event because his mother-in-law, his guest for the evening, suffers from multiple sclerosis.
