Perhaps if Friday Night Lights was the first high school football story to come to the big screen, it would be one of the best. Even though the film does sport some superb performances and tackles gritty realism with gusto, it isn't the first to do that--far from it.

While sporadically hilarious, Without a Paddle is a regurgitation of every fish-out-of-water comedy since 1987. Even still, it would make for a funny and frequent rental, if the audience it was intended for wasn't nearing 40 years old.

Despite a promising start, Exorcist: The Beginning crumbles into a hilarious mess of a story with deplorable dialogue. Think Scare Tactics meets the world of bad, bad CGI.

The Chronicles of Riddick is a dazzling sci-fi epic that will have Pitch Black devotees marking their calendars for the third installment. But director David Twohy's sequel is unlikely to strike a chord with those unfamiliar with Riddick's world

Reese Witherspoon's sincerest, most gallant efforts aside, Legally Blonde 2 is as light and sugary as cotton candy, but the taste it leaves behind is more saccharine than sweet.
