HOLLYWOOD, August 15, 2000 -- It seems that while the big Hollywood donkeys got their rest after Day One of the Democratic National Convention, President Clinton had a little more partying to do. Especially since he was about to receive Tinseltown's biggest honor. Yep, that's right -- after he wistfully practiced an acceptance speech with Kevin Spacey's Academy Award (and having Spacey take it away from him) during his famous "Clinton: The Final Days" video spoof, President Clinton finally rece

Insiders thought they knew "Witch" movie would top the Halloween weekend chart, but it turned out to be "Meet the Parents" and not the "Blair Witch" sequel. Universal's PG-13-rated blockbuster comedy "Meet the Parents" was still meeting and greeting moviegoers in first place in its fourth week with a hefty estimated $15.06 million (-6%) at 2,647 theaters (+28 theaters; $5,690 per theater). HOLLYWOOD, Oct 26, 2000 - Look for "Blair Witch 2" to do killer business this Halloween weekend. Artisan Entertainment's R-rated sequel "Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2," opening at about 3,000 theaters, should scare up enough ticket sales to end "Meet the Parents'" three week reign in first place. "'Blair Witch' is going to play very young," explains an insider. "They ought to be able to open to $20 million." The original "Blair Witch Project," last summer's sleeper blockbuster,

HOLLYWOOD, Aug. 11, 2000 -- It looks like the revolving door at the box office will keep turning this weekend, as the transparent thriller "Hollow Man" gives way to yet another new No. 1 flick. The question is: Which lukewarm newcomer will it be? Three major films will make their nationwide debut, while a fourth flick, the interesting yet small "Cecil B. DeMented," gets an expanded limited release. So the candidates for top honors at the multiplexes are "Bless the Child," "The Replacements" and

HOLLYWOOD, August 8, 2000 -- If you think polygamy is funny, then you've got a friend in Rodney Dangerfield. The funny-faced goof of "Caddyshack" and "Back to School" renown is set to release a new comedy, "My Five Wives." "I was inspired to write the story because my wife is a Mormon and I became fascinated with the whole polygamy thing. Polygamy's still practiced in over 50 countries," Dangerfield told the Associated Press. Dangerfield, 78, recently underwent bypass surgery. "My Five Wives" h
