The rapper-turned-actress will take on the role played by Sally Field in the new all African-American film, while Alfre Woodard, Phylicia Rashad, Jill Scott and Condola Rashad will portray characters played by Shirley MacLaine, Olympia Dukakis, Dolly Parton and Julia Roberts, respectively in the revamp.
