Samuel L. Jackson has opened at the top of the box office for a second time in 2008. His racially-charged, crooked-cop flick Lakeview Terrace (Sony) has opened at No. 1, as I first reported Friday night, with a $15.6M opening.

The Toronto International Film Festival turned out to be the who’s who of Hollywood this year with everyone from Brad Pitt to Dakota Fanning on the scene for the parties and promotion surrounding their latest projects. Hollywood.com made the trek to Canada to meet with the casts of some of the hottest films due out this fall. Despite our best efforts we couldn’t get to everything, but here’s a sneak peek at some of our favorite films from the fest.

Coming off of the worst weekend at the box office since September 2003, the movie business could use a needle of adrenaline to the heart (a la Uma Thurman in Pulp Fiction) and, although business will improve, there is probably no stealth blockbuster in the cards this weekend.
