The Wrestler star landed a special Halloween treat last Monday (31Oct11) as he became only the 254th celebrity to have his prints added to the historic venue, but Rourke admits he was baffled to receive the invite - until he did some research.
He says, "First of all I didn't know they still put people when they are alive in there. I didn't think they still did that. I thought they did it a long time ago so when I used to live on Hollywood Boulevard... I'd walk down there like everybody else, look around, see (prints by) John Wayne, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra...
"It was never something I really thought about because I always thought it was some kinda bum yard."
Rourke dedicated the honour to his late grandmother and even inscribed a heart and the word 'Granma' (sic) next to his autograph in the wet cement.

The star pushed his body to the limit to shoot director Darren Aronofsky's 2008 action drama, in which he portrays an ageing professional grappler attempting to make a comeback.
But Rourke admits the strenuous shoot took its toll on his ageing muscles and he was left so crippled with pain, he and his house help Javier broke down in tears at the thought that he was dying.
He says, "He (Aronofsky) gets the most out of you... I never did a backflip in my life, and you know, I'm no spring chicken - my legs are gone, my back is gone...
"So the night of the wrap party, I lived in a three-storey walk up (and) I had my trainer - literally I had to hold on to him. My knees were shaking, my legs were shaking. I got to the couch and started crying, started breathing real funny (sic). I couldn't speak. I had this really great gay houseboy, named Javier.
"I didn't know if I was dying - I called my priest, my doctor... So he explained to me what was going on, I was just exhausted. So I'm crying, Javier's crying, and Javier's crying more than I am so I'm thinking I must be in bad shape 'cause Javier's sobbing, screaming. He's going, 'Oh papi!' He's hugging me, we're crying together. I thought no more physical movies, that's it. I'm never gonna do a backflip, never gonna do a push up..."
But Rourke, 59, broke his own vow when he signed up to star in the mythological Greek epic Immortals, one of two action films he's got lined up.
He adds, "And (then) I got this movie (Immortals). It's not that physical, but I got another movie coming up and I do it all again."

The Dirty Harry star, 81, was the focus of the inaugural LACMA Art + Film Gala and he was honoured along with artist John Baldessari.
The event was co-chaired by Eva Chow and Leonardo DiCaprio, the star of Eastwood's latest film J. Edgar, about FBI director John Edgar Hoover.
Chow told reporters at the event, "Clint Eastwood is such an amazing filmmaker. I can't think of anyone who can cross over between the front and back of the camera at the level he's been doing it for most of his life. I think he represents the word 'cool,' and I can't believe we are fortunate enough to honour him at our first gala."
Stars including Kate Hudson, Zac Efron, Reese Witherspoon, Emily Blunt, Mickey Rourke and Uma Thurman were on hand to toast Eastwood on his big night.

"If you cause too many problems, no matter how good you are, you'll be out of work. In the old days if the (set) call was seven, I'd show up at 11. My reputation was so bad... When you're out of work for 13 years, it's a humiliating experience. What I'm fortunate about is many of the people I alienated and p**sed off, they're not working anymore, they're all dead... The new breed doesn't care what I did 20 years ago." Veteran actor Mickey Rourke on making a career comeback in films like The Wrestler, Iron Man 2, The Expendables and new movie Immortals.

The Wrestler star landed a special Halloween treat as he became the 254th celebrity to have his prints immortalised at the historic Hollywood venue.
The actor was emotional as he spoke about his beloved grandmother, who raised Rourke and his brother Joe, insisting she would have been pleased to see him joining the ranks of silver screen icons honoured at Grauman's.
Rourke even inscribed a heart and the word 'Granma' (sic) next to his autograph in the wet cement.
He told the crowd, "She knew about all these people here. I used to watch TV and she'd tell me who Errol Flynn was and who Ronald Colman was. Of course, her favourite actor was a gangster actor - George Raft - so that runs in the family...
"(Today) she would have told me to stand up straight, keep my shoulders back, 'Make sure you take that goddamn toothpick out of your mouth so you don't look like some white trash hillbilly standing on the corner.'
"She would have said, 'Be polite, be a gentleman, say please and thank you'... Thank you very much. Thank you from my grandmother because I wouldn't be here if I didn't have the love she gave me."

I wonder if there's ever been a moment in Jason Statham's where he has not been the toughest guy in the room. Even when he's counting money he scares the crap out of me!
In this exclusive clip from his new movie 13 (which co-stars Mickey Rourke, 50 Cent, Sam Reilly, Ray Winstone, Alexander Skarsgard and Michael Shannon), Statham's character Jasper proves just how intimidating he can be. Punches aren't thrown, kicks aren't…kicked. It's just Statham starring down his prey. Acting!
13 opens in theaters October 28 and on VOD November 8.
