If the intriguing but ultimately derivative Kingdom of Heaven had arrived before these recent period epics, it may have stood a better chance of enthralling us.

But the inside jokes and loopy antics could throw the general population into a panic--a violation of the Guide's golden rule.

It also drags on longer than the seven years that it takes this odd couple to decide what they want with their lives. Let them waste their lives--and not yours--on something that feels like but isn't really A Lot Like Love.
