The Social Network is more a meditation on right vs. wrong than a chronicle of the birth of Facebook and it is a more affecting film because of that.

The Coen brothers could be adding a third Writers Guild of America Award to their impressive trophy case next month if they can nab another for best original screenplay for Burn After Reading. The WGA, who announced their nominees today, presented Joel and Ethan Coen with best adapted screenplay last year for No Country for Old Men and best original screenplay in 1997 for Fargo.

While sporadically hilarious, Without a Paddle is a regurgitation of every fish-out-of-water comedy since 1987. Even still, it would make for a funny and frequent rental, if the audience it was intended for wasn't nearing 40 years old.

Interminable and boring, this is why hyperrealism never does well on the silver screen. (Heck, everyone's life is boring, except yours.) In the Bedroom just makes you wish you were at home sleeping in your own.
