  • Selma Blair Gets The Boot: Fired from Charlie Sheen’s ‘Anger Management'
By: Cori Rosen June 19, 2013 1:16pm EST
Charlie Sheen, maybe you're the one who needs some Anger Management — or at least a huge prescription of chill pills!  Rumors have been swirling the interwebs that angst was brewing between Sheen and his FX co-star Selma Blair on the set of Anger Management.  TMZ previously reported that Blair has been openly criticizing Sheen — who just so happens to be the executive producer of the FX sitcom — for his subpar work ethic and lack of dedication to the hit series.  And as we all remember from his Two and a Half Men days, Sheen isn't so fond of constructive criticism. Instead of trying to work things out with the actress, Sheen is cutting the cord on Blair's role. The Cruel Intentions star who played as Dr. Kate Wales, a therapist and Sheen's on-screen "friend with benefits," is abruptly leaving the Anger Management just as the series reaches its 90-episode second season mark.  Deadline reports that Sheen pulled a Russell Brand and fired Blair over text. Way to keep it professional, Sheen! Although Blair has been on the series since it first premiered last summer, her role will not be recast. Apparently Sheen wants to throw That 70's Show actress Mila Kunis into the series — for a cool $1 million an episode — to fill the female void left in Blair's absence  Although it's a shame to see Blair get the boot, we have to admit that it would be fun having Mila Kunis back on our TV screens. As Sheen would say: "Winning!" • Katy Perry Says Russell Brand Asked for a Divorce Via Text
By: Cori Rosen June 18, 2013 4:19pm EST
We've heard that chivalry's dead, but we didn't actually believe it until now (despite the myriad warnings Carrie Bradshaw left us). In this month's edition of Vogue, Katy Perry's cover story unveils the nasty truth about her catastrophe of a divorce with crazed comic Russell Brand. We knew that Brand was just a tad off (to say the least) after he revealed he's had nine orgasms in one evening, but after hearing the abrupt way he broke it off with his the ex-wife Perry, we're convinced that men need a tutorial in proper life etiquette. The Firework singer unveiled how Brand cut off their marriage via text message. Yes, you read that right: he ended a marriage once full of sweet, sweet love with a simple compilation of words sent via iPhone. How lame is that?  Perry spoke fondly of Brand to Vogue, saying he was a"magical man and I was in love with him when I married him," but the pop star then continued to disclose the ugly truth regarding the dissolution of her marriage. She shares, "Let's just say I haven't heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011." Yikes! The Popchips spokeswoman goes on to rationalize that, at the time, she was overwhelmed with touring and was constantly out on the road, which definitely could have negatively affected her marriage. But come on, there's no excuse to ever end a relationship over text message. Man up, Brand! In addition to the text message debacle, the boob-sparking singer also confessed that she's still in love with John Mayer. "I was madly in love with him," Perry tells Vogue. "I still am madly in love with him." But now, she definitively shares, the relationship is "over." "All I can say about that relationship is that he’s got a beautiful mind," she says. "Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds." (Side note: "Beautiful Mind, Tortured Soul" would be a great name for her next hit jam.) Katy Perry sure has had a bountiful plethora of troubles in the love department... maybe she should call up Taylor Swift and the two romantic messes can write a demoralizing duet about love. The two musicians do have a lot in common — shout out to you, John Mayer! • 7 New 'Despicable Me 2' Clips: Your Favorite Villian is Back for Another Adventure!
By: Cori Rosen June 18, 2013 12:44pm EST
Having watched this cuteness-overload clip from Despicable Me (in which precious Agnes squeals, "It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!") far too many times, I cannot wait to see the friendliest super-villain Gru and his googly-eyed minions back for more in Despicable Me 2. The family-fun flick stars Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), who is enlisted by the Anti-Villain League to take down a powerful, malicious wrongdoer. The latest clips for the comedic animation, which boasts an all-star cast of voices (Al Pacino, Kristen Wiig, Russell Brand, Miranda Cosgrove, and Ken Jeong among them), demonstrate that Despicable Me 2 will leave audiences giggling and smiling like their giddy children– besides the fact that its audience will most likely consist of children anyways!  In this first clip, Gru looks down in the dumps, alone in his chip hat as he drowns his sorrows in guac. Gru, I'll go to chipotle with you anytime. Gru practices asking the lovely Lucy (Kristen Wiig) on a date with one of his dressed-up minions. But the one-eyed stare of his loyal yellow pal petrifies Gru and he reacts pretty intensely to say the least: Two blondie bombshells (is it appropriate to call animated characters hot?) come a knocking' at Gru's door, seeking a date with the pointed-nose villain. Gru uses his secret weapon to send the ladies on their way... his adopted gal Agnes: Gru sweetly tucks his daughters into bed… and right when we think Gru's about to have the "birds and the bees" chat with darling Agnes, bushy-brow Gru manages to worm his way out of that potentially awkard convo: Gru tells his kiddies how the Anti-Villain League recruited him to save the world from a vindictive evil guy. Gru's just a bit excited for his mission: Lucy reveals to Gru that she's his new partner, but things end up getting a tad messy. But hey, at least Gru looks great in purple: Grab your trusty minions and popcorn for Despicable Me 2  when it invades theaters everywhere on July 3rd.  Follow Cori on Twitter @gimmegimmeCOR | Follow Hollywood.com on Twitter @Hollywood_com  More:'Despicable Me 2' Trailer Al Pacino Exits 'Despicable Me 2' Just 2 Months Before Its July Release'Despicable Me 2' Trailer: Slapstick And…beach Boys? The British star has come to the realization that you need to consider your partner's desire before your own. Brand revealed his logic, explaining, "I think that the person you're having sex with must have an orgasm first, or you're not fulfilling your job as a man." Share the love, people! That concludes Sex 101 with Russell Brand! • Rebel Wilson Strips Down, Cleans Up for 'Glamour UK' Cover
By: Jordyn Schwersky June 07, 2013 1:31pm EST
Her humor may be dirty, but Rebel Wilson cleaned up nice for the July cover of Glamour UK. For the shoot, she stripped down to nothing but diamonds and submerged herself in a bubble bath — and the result is fabulous. In fact, her winged eyeliner and up-do make her look a little bit like Adele. Add that to the fact that they both sing, are hilarious at awards shows, and are ruled by the same Queen, and there might be some sort of long-lost connection there. We aren't the only ones who think Wilson looks great underneath those bubbles. "You're perfect," Russell Brand tweeted. Bridesmaids producer Apatow also weighed in on Twitter, "You are always on the cover...of my heart." You can see more of Wilson on her new TV show, Super Fun Night, which premieres in the fall. Until then, we hope someone takes the opportunity to draw her like one of those french girls. "I'd love to be him, I'd be like a Tom Baker one, like a sort of long scarf, flouncy, wistful, quoting occasional poems, kicking cyber-men in the nuts. This is what the country needs." Funnyman Russell Brand puts himself forward as a possible replacement for British actor Matt Smith, who is bowing out of playing Doctor Who.

  • Russell Brand backs drug reform call
    By: WENN.com May 22, 2013 7:21am EST
Russell Brand has called on his fans to back a controversial reform of Britain's drug laws. The funnyman, a reformed heroin addict, met with Green Party Member of Parliament Caroline Lucas at the Houses of Parliament on Tuesday (21May13) and now he is urging his army of followers to join her campaign. Lucas has set up an online petition calling for research into the impact of the U.K.'s drug laws on addicts trying to kick their habit, and Brand posed for photos with her outside the parliament building to promote the cause. In a series of posts on Twitter.com, he writes, "Hello. Do you know anyone who has a drug problem? Have you seen anyone with one? Could we improve their treatment? Important! CarolineLucas wants the government to look at their daft drug policy sign this! "Need 100k signatures on this to cause aggro (upheaval) in parliament, please assist. Please sign this thing. It will help (us) all. It will take 90-100 seconds (depending on typing skills)... please stop celebrating gay marriage and get this signed." Last year (12), Brand gave evidence at a House of Commons Home Affairs Select Committee hearing into Britain's drug policy, urging lawmakers to decriminalise illicit substances and help addicts become useful members of society.
  • They're Doing Another Awful Film Called 'The Raven,' and Gerard Butler Is In It
By: Michael Arbeiter May 17, 2013 3:40pm EST
"Wait a sec," you'll say, furrowing your brow, upon hearing that Gerard Butler is in talks to headline a new film called The Raven. "Didn't that movie already come out?" Some of you will recall, with a good deal of regret, having head to theaters in April of 2012 to catch a newly released psychological thriller bearing this very same title: a John Cusack film that made for a resounding groan, critically and commercially. So why then, so soon after this universal flop, did someone think it a good idea to make another movie with the same title? The film, which Deadline reports is in negotiations to give Butler a leading role formerly connected to Liam Hemsworth's name, is being pegged as a sci-fi thriller about a man whose incredible power that makes him the target of an evil regime. Nothing to do with Cusack's The Raven, or even Poe's "The Raven." But with a film both as recent and as adamantly scorned as the 2012 picture, it'll be hard to avoid an undesirable association. But just maybe this will work in the favor of Butler's film. In the pattern of like named movies of the past, perhaps the dreadful reaction to the 2012 film will automatically brand this new one "the good Raven." Kicking and ScreamingThe Will Ferrell family comedy about soccer and the quarter-life crises indie movie (that's the good one) Jersey GirlThe Ben Affleck rom-com and the Melanie Griffith rom-com (that's the good one) GladiatorThe Cuba Gooding Jr. boxing drama and the Russell Crowe Roman epic (that's the good one) HeatThe indubitably '80s Burt Reynolds flick and the classic Pacino/De Niro crime drama (that's the good one) TwilightThe infamous vampire franchise kickoff and the Paul Newman mystery thriller (that's the good one... if only by default) There's hope for you yet, Raven 2.0!
