A Scanner Darkly is capable of inducing euphoria if viewers focus on one element of splendor--the acting, concept, dialogue or animation--per viewing. (It might take as many viewings to firmly grasp the plot, as well.) But trying to take it all in at once can lead to sensory overload and, even worse, boredom.

The uber-popular video game gets a big-screen treatment with a predictable plot and a tacked-on final sequence. But even with all the action, violence, mutant-zombies and lots of high-caliber weaponry, it just doesn't elevate a great game to a great movie.

If you've seen every Indiana Jones and Tomb Raider and Star Wars and The Mummy, and you STILL want to see more action films? Then you might want to consider this one. At least it'll use up some time until the next Star Wars movie comes out.

Although Julianne Moore does another good job pouring her heart out, The Forgotten just doesn't quite hold up as either a gut-wrenching tale of loss or a convincing psychological thriller.

The Chronicles of Riddick is a dazzling sci-fi epic that will have Pitch Black devotees marking their calendars for the third installment. But director David Twohy's sequel is unlikely to strike a chord with those unfamiliar with Riddick's world
