How far off the mark is a film when even the prospect of watching Paris Hilton stalked, terrorized and violently snuffed--in a red bra-and-panty set, no less--fails to viscerally deliver its audience-pleasing promise? Way off.

While sporadically hilarious, Without a Paddle is a regurgitation of every fish-out-of-water comedy since 1987. Even still, it would make for a funny and frequent rental, if the audience it was intended for wasn't nearing 40 years old.

No doubt Berry will spend some time licking her wounds from the scathing reviews the film is sure to earn. Hide this Catwoman on a hot tin roof--or anywhere else no one is likely to see it. It's that bad.

In Bringing Down the House, the comedy is broad, the jokes foreseeable but thankfully, Queen Latifah is in it--she steals the show.

The hype isn't wrong--Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood is definitely a film better suited for a female audience, and it has plenty of wonderful moments to make us remember our best friends.
