  • Idiocracy Review
By: Mike Szymanski September 08, 2006 5:04am EST
Idiocracy is a comically bleak look at a future in which the world has been dumbed way down.
  • Invincible Review
By: Kit Bowen August 25, 2006 7:58am EST
It’s hard to knock something as inspiring as a true story about a local guy, with no football experience, trying out for his home pro team and making the cut. But Invincible does nothing to improve on the already very tired sports underdog theme.
  • Accepted Review
By: Kit Bowen August 18, 2006 1:15pm EST
Although a promising start with enough decent laughs to keep you going, Accepted eventually degenerates into any number of college-themed underdog movies. Still, this could possibly gain Frat Pack pledge Justin Long his own acceptance.
  • Little Miss Sunshine Review
By: Brian Marder July 27, 2006 4:55am EST
Even with “Oscar season” yet to come, it’s safe to say that Little Miss Sunshine is one of the year’s very best. This inspirational, hilariously sad dysfunctional-family-road-trip dramedy offers absolutely everything--except pretension.
  • My Super Ex-Girlfriend Review
By: Mike Szymanski July 21, 2006 5:12am EST
How can a movie with such talented performers and such an original concept seem so entirely like a re-tread? Help them Superman!
  • Cars Review
By: Kit Bowen June 09, 2006 1:16pm EST
Pixar’s latest visual stunner with a heart of gold honors our obsession with the automobile. Although it will make many nostalgic for the open road, especially the historic Route 66, the kids might get a little bored with this one.
  • Over the Hedge Review
By: Kit Bowen May 26, 2006 5:42am EST
Leave it to a bunch of hilarious woodland critters to teach us suburbia-bound humans a few things about living life Over the Hedge.
  • See No Evil Review
By: Mike Szymanski May 19, 2006 11:48am EST
If you like stories about psychotic killers, See No Evil will make Halloween’s Mike Myers look like a sissy.
  • United 93 Review
By: Kit Bowen April 28, 2006 7:34am EST
Be prepared. Writer/director Paul Greengrass’ incredibly well made United 93 is overwhelming, telling a story we’ve all come to know so very well. It will be one of the most affecting movies you’ll ever see--if you can bring yourself to see it, that is.
  • The Wild Review
By: Kit Bowen April 14, 2006 6:02am EST
In a cross between Finding Nemo and Madagascar, with a little Lion King thrown in for good measure, Disney’s The Wild is just plain old tired derivativeness. Maybe we should chalk this one up to bad timing.
