Internet pirates are already swapping illegally obtained copies of the much anticipated upcoming release American Pie 2, according to Reuters.
HOLLYWOOD, Nov. 3, 2000 -- Universal Pictures, in conjunction with Hypnotic.com, on Thursday kicked off an online casting call for the sequel to "American Pie." The casting call, seeking one male and one female (ages 18 and over), ends Wednesday. Thirty semifinalists, selected by Universal’s feature film casting department, will have their materials posted on Hypnotic.com on Nov. 20. By voting for their favorites, Hypnotic participants become eligible for a sweepstakes drawing. One lucky grand-prize winner gets an expenses paid trip to Hollywood for the "American Pie 2" world premiere next year. Kevin Misher, president of production at Universal, said, "Our partnership with Hypnotic began with the goal of creating opportunities with emerging filmmakers. As the association developed, so have the possibilities. This casting opportunity for ‘American Pie 2’ is a perf
